Today marks two years since PARA began. One truth has guided our work. The most powerful story of PARA is not ours. It is the story of the families. Thank you for trusting us with your stories and your journeys. Your courage is the beating heart of PARA.
During this time, PARA volunteers have shown up at every hour of the day and night. They have been advocates, bridges, translators, case managers, drivers, listeners and companions through the most painful and vulnerable moments of people’s lives. They have held hands through airport gates, delivered essentials with respect, and walked beside families as they navigated new systems, new languages, and new futures.
To every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter, thank you. You have been the difference between despair and hope. Between surviving and beginning again. Between feeling alone and feeling held. Thank you to government ministers who have centred Palestinian voices.
As we enter our third year, our promise remains. We will continue to stand with Palestinians, to advocate for justice and dignity and to build a future in Australia where Palestinians feel safe, seen and supported. A future where your dreams that were paused by circumstance are rebuilt with possibility.
We’ve advocated for pathways to safety and family reunification
We’ve booked flights for over 360+ Palestinians, ensuring safety and reuniting them with loved ones in Australia.

We’ve built relationships grounded in humanity
We’ve created an ecosystem of support that meets the real needs of families, all with so much love. We created spaces for healing and connection with more than 50 community and social events. We’ve shared the stories of thee families; their strength, resilience, love, grief and hope. They have continually guided our work.

We’ve created partnerships to meet urgent and ongoing needs
Meaningful partnerships with service providers have enabled newly arrived Palestinians to regain independence, with 50+ university applications supported and 23 receiving full scholarships, school scholarships awarded, 130+ completing English testing, investments in technology and professional accreditation for healthcare workers.
