FAQ

PARA is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. We are dedicated to helping Palestinian migrants and refugees live safe, happy, and fulfilling lives in Australia. Our mission is to centre, strengthen, and amplify Palestinian voices in the community.

We support Palestinian migrants and refugees by advocating for their needs at all levels of government, facilitating financial aid and resources for resettlement, creating partnerships with service providers and the community, and delivering community engagement activities that celebrate and preserve our diverse culture.

PARA is led by a dedicated Board of Directors, including Rasha Abbas (Founder and Executive Director), Reem Borrows, John Karkar KC, and Samah Sabawi. The Board meets monthly to ensure robust governance and consistent oversight.

We are currently accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Board Members. If you are interested, please contact us at info@para.org.au. Additionally, we have established an Advisory Committee comprising refugees with lived experience. If you wish to be involved, please contact us at info@para.org.au.

We offer case management services, providing support for individuals and families who have recently arrived in Australia. If you or your family need assistance, please complete the form on the Get Support page.

Yes, donations to PARA are tax-deductible.

100% of the donations go directly to helping refugees. We are committed to ensuring that every contribution makes a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support.

PARA operates entirely with volunteers, including our Board Directors. No one receives a salary, ensuring that every resource and donation directly benefits the refugees and migrants we serve.

You can support PARA by staying informed, spreading awareness, and considering volunteering or making a donation. Visit our Give Support page for more information on how you can contribute to our mission.
